Forboding skies over Ullswater



The Eastern side of Ullwater is oft less trodden than Patterdale. For those seeking some solitude, it can be found here. Taken in winter, this picture shows just how dramatic the Cumbrian winter can be. During the months of January and February you get the hill almost to yourself, which is wonderful. Rarely these days do you have solitude, it is nice to get once in a while.
